Who we are
Agricola Basso is a family-run business founded in 2001 by Mamma Domenica, who was joined, after their studies, by her sons Claudio and Paolo.
The headquarters is Prea, a small Occitan village in the heart of the Maritime Alps, in the province of Cuneo.
We grow at 1050 m above sea level, in a pristine and pure environment: this is what distinguishes us from many other companies. Working at this altitude definitely presents many obstacles but the passion and love for our land guide us every day.
We produce small fruits (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, currants...) fruit (pears, apples, peaches, apricots, cherries), vegetables (eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, and much more).
We are proud of our centuries-old chestnut groves, restored and refurbished, from which we obtain the chestnuts to produce our delicious cream and more.
We sell them fresh and dried, or processed into flour.
An important part of our production is represented by Herbs, Fruits and Spontaneous Flowers such as Nettle, Dandelion, Lavender, Elderberry, Dog Rose.
We directly transform our product into jams, sauces, pickles, syrups and fruit juices, without using flavourings or chemical ingredients, except organic cane sugar from the fair trade market, top quality oil, cocoa, etc...
The transformation laboratory is powered by self-produced photovoltaic energy: a conscious choice for energy saving.

Here is the place where our Agriturismo takes its name:
Località I Suardi, where we have the land on which we grow our vegetables and where our great-great-grandparents lived permanently

Family is the backbone of our company. Mamma Domenica started everything way back in 2001 and still helps us with all the jobs today, waiting for the newest generations

Paolo Grossi
Father of 4 children, Paolo takes care of a bit of everything, including the marketing and commercial side, while continuing to maintain various agricultural tasks.

Claudio Grossi
Claudio is the owner, he believed in it from the beginning, working full time in the company. It mainly deals with the agricultural part and the initial preparation in the laboratory.

The nature
The true protagonist of the Company is She, she is at the center of all our projects and always has the last word.
